Activity 2: Analyzing Audio Media Coverage

Activity 1: Analyzing Written Media Coverage
Your group will choose a topic from the list and use the internet to conduct basic research. You will choose three valid news articles from verifiable sources and analyze them.
As a group, you will research your topic further, this time including audio and audiovisual news sources. You will choose three and analyze the content.
Your group will create a short video presentation to share with the class what you learned about your chosen issue, the media surrounding it, and what efforts are being made in the community. You will create an innovative solution to the issue which you will share in your presentation, and describe the tools you plan to use to acheive it. You will provide resources for students who want to explore further.
Now that you are familiar with your topic and news coverage surrounding it, it is time to reach out and develop your Personal Learning Network (PLN). Your group will choose a tool to "brand" yourselves and use it to identify community leaders that represent a solution to the issue you have been researching. You will reach out to a leader to ask questions regarding your issue.
